AVALOCH ARTISTIC PARTNERSHIP: Composers Conference New Music New Communities Concert
The Composers Conference's New Music/New Communities Initiative(NM/NC) is a project that utilizes the Conference’s role as an arts education organization to inspire and engage young musicians from underserved communities. Through collaborations with local music education organizations in the greater New England area, the Composers Conference provides students with the tools to become composers and creators within a supportive environment, unleashing their personal artistry while fostering enduring creative relationships. The Composers Conference is thrilled to be partnering with the Concord Community Music School and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts for the 2025 season. Join us in celebrating the premieres of four young, promising composers who are currently students at CCMS in Concord, NH and Walnut Hill in MA.

Join us for a special event with Scott Kirby and Gabriel Donohue!
Singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, traveler and road warrior are all words that aptly describe Scott Kirby. Finishing songs while driving through the Italian countryside, performing 100 plus live shows throughout the US and Canada, touring Ireland with 50 fans in tow, and recording his tenth album in Nashville, all keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour. Irish born Multi Instrumentalist, singer/songwriter Gabriel Donohue is based in Philadelphia. He performs mostly on guitar and piano but also plays many more instruments from bouzouki/mandolin to Irish and exotic percussion. Gabriel performs throughout the USA, solo and along with a cadre of top flight musicians, including three years with the GRAMMY Award winning Chieftains. He has recorded with the Boston Pops, Eileen Ivers, Joanie Madden, James Keane, Sean Quinn, Brian Conway, John Whelan, Karen Mal, Aoife Clancy, Liam Clancy, to name a few.

Join us for a very special evening with world-renowned Hindustani Classical Vocalist Sanhita Nandi, an acclaimed classical vocalist of Kirana Gharana. Her style is characterized by her rich mellifluous voice that elegantly expresses sonority and lyricism with heart wrenching emotive appeal and delightful tranquility. She continues the rich Kirana tradition of painting music on the large canvass of Vilambit Laya with extremely fine and detailed melodic improvisations. Expression of subtle nuances of musical emotions through moving intonations of lyrics, woven in fresh and original melodic ideas is her forte. Her sargams and swift tanas in faster tempo are as much adorable as her vilambit development of Ragas.
Sanhita will be joined by Partha Karmakar(Tabla) and Keval Kavle(Harmonium).

Join us for a very special interactive workshop with world-renowned Hindustani Classical Vocalist Sanhita Nandi. Sanhita will elaborate on the melody and emotion of the raga in a slower tempo, while expressing the subtle nuances and shades of a raga, grace notes, and solfege through various ornamentations. She will demonstrate how one can develop rich improvisations and fast melodic passages while also exploring myriad emotions that are woven into this precise and virtuosic musical practice.

OneBeat in Concert
Join the OneBeat Fellows for a live performance at the Avaloch Concert Barn.
OneBeat is the leading multinational music exchange of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) that uses the power of creative collaboration as a gateway to civic discourse and cross-cultural understanding.
This concert will feature 25 OneBeat fellows (representing 20 different countries in total) who will be in residence for two weeks at Avaloch. Guest artists for the OneBeat 14 residency include renowned multi-instrumentalist and instrument builder Mark Stewart, composer and saxophonist Matthew Evan Taylor, and composer and producer Emily Wells, each of whom will lead fellows in creative exercises and masterclasses leading up to their performance and subsequent tour.
